ISABELLA KAPLUN
Isabella is currently studying at the UW and is an undergraduate with a double major of Marine Biology and Neuroscience. Her roles include working as an assistant at Center for Laboratory Animal Training Resources (CLATR) as well as within the University of Washington’s Washington National Primate Research Center (WaNPRC).
She wants to be a student voice for the committee as someone who is working with a variety of animals from big to small. A lot of students that intend to work with animals as they join new labs more often than not know about compassion fatigue. Isabella wants to make it her mission to spread the word to her fellow undergraduates that working with animals is a responsibility that they should be proud of and know that they are supported.
When she isn’t running around between classes and work, she loves reading books and building Legos. She would also never pass up on target training sessions with her bird or watching her tortoise crawl around. As for physical activity tennis and dance are the way to go!
