FRANCESCA PERROTTA
Francesca Perrotta is a Scientific Instructor for the Office of Animal Welfare and a Veterinary Assistant for a small mixed practice hospital. She began her journey with the University of Washington (UW) hired as an Animal Technician for the Department of Comparative Medicine. Prior to UW, she worked as a wildlife educator and animal handler with Reptacular Animals. Concurrently, she also had an aquarist internship at the Santa Monica Pier aquarium. She has worked with hundreds of animal species including zoo, aquatic, farm, domestic, laboratory, and wildlife. One of her proudest achievements was her restoration project for the Jack Dunster Marine Biological Reserve.
In her spare time, Francesca’s hobbies include camping, hiking, wilderness survival, crewing on tall ships, and volunteering. Her interests include wildlife disease and conservation, research, zoological medicine, and marine biology.
