STUDY ENDPOINT NOTIFICATIONS

D2C offers simple endpoint notification systems in vivaria for use in consideration of helping our animal caregivers recognize when an animal’s endpoint is nearing. We strive to make study endpoint notifications as easy as possible while helping curb compassion fatigue among our staff.​​​​ Contact D2C if additional supplies are needed.

GOLD HEART STICKERS

Our hope is research groups will write an expected euthanasia date on the gold heart sticker and place it on the cage card before an animal reaches study endpoint.

 

 

CAGE CARDS

Similar to the gold heart stickers, cage cards will soon be offered in all vivaria for the research group to write the date on the provided space to place behind the AOps cage card.

 

 

 

CAGE TAGS

Similar to the Gold Heart Stickers, Cage Tags are intended to be used as a discreet notification system for the researcher to help the Animal Caretakers emotionally prepare for the research animal’s endpoint.

 

 

STUDY ENDPOINT NOTIFICATION EMAILS

An email template was created which incorporates an acknowledgement of the high levels of humane care the animal had received and the greater purpose the animal served for medical research. This email template is to be personalized and used to distribute among the care staff by the researcher prior to the animal’s endpoint.
