Jay Dua to Attend the 12th Bio-SPM Summer School at Kanazawa University

Jay Dua, a graduate student in the De Yoreo Group, has been accepted to participate in the 12th Bio-SPM Summer School organized by the Nano Life Science Institute (WPI-NanoLSI), Kanazawa University. The Bio-SPM summer school provides young researchers and students with an opportunity to use state-of-the-art Bio-SPM systems to image their samples and realize their potential. WPI-NanoLSI has also agreed to completely fund his trip for the entire program. Only about 20 participants were selected from an international pool of applicants.

Jay plans to learn their Frequency-Modulation Atomic Force Microscope (FM-AFM) technology and use it to visualize the 3D distribution of hydration layer above peptide nanoribbons assembled on his novel templated self-assembled monolayers of aliphatic thiols on Muscovite Mica.
