Earth Week 2023!
BIPOC Panel on Environmental Law
When: Tuesday, April 18th, 12:30-1:20pm

Details: This Social Justice Tuesday will feature trailblazing BIPOC environmental attorneys. The event will shed a light on the disparities and inequalities within the environmental movement specifically in the legal sphere. Our goal is to lift up underrepresented voices and inspire young law students to see a future in environmental law. This discussion will give students an opportunity to understand how to use their J.D. in a firm, non-profit, or government setting. Our panelists include Maia Bellon from Cascadia LawMariel Thuraisingham from Front and Centered, and Thaddaeus Gregory from Van Ness Feldman. See the attached flyer for more details.

Federal Climate Policy
When: Wednesday, April 19th, 12:30-1:20pm

Details:The purpose of the event is to discuss the Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Package, and the outlook for future federal climate legislation. We will be joined by Professor Greg Dotson at the University of Oregon. Professor Dotson was the lead staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (the Waxman-Markey bill). He returned to the U.S. Senate in 2021 to serve as the Chief Counsel for the Democrats on the Environment and Public Works Committee, where he played a key role in the enactment of the American Recovery Plan Act, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.
