We are working to develop the next generation of diverse scientists with the intent to uncover the fundamental features of cellular identity and epigenetic inheritance. Our research merges stem cells, immune biology, and biochemistry with the goal of translating scientific discoveries at the bench to therapeutic advances in anticipation of improving human health. We are part of the Biochemistry Department at the University of Washington and the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, located in the South Lake Union area of Seattle. Our team is led by Thelma Escobar and we aim to foster an inclusive environment that enables and supports students and fellows in their scientific training.
