Welcome to the Pacific Northwest Archaeology Lab

The Pacific Northwest Archaeology Lab is directed by Dr. Sara Gonzalez and sponsored by the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde’s Tribal Historic Preservation Office.  The lab currently hosts several archaeological and community-based projects Washington and Oregon. Our laboratory procedures are currently geared toward the Field Methods in Indigenous Archaeology field school excavations. Student volunteers process all of the belongings recovered from our excavations on the Grand Ronde reservation.  We engage in archaeological collection management, material processing, and curation. Our lab has several ongoing student-led research projects that will continue through the school year.
