IPhD Autumn Luncheon – 2025

Students in the Interdisciplinary Individual PhD (IPhD) program pursue research across a wide range of disciplines—from engineering and medicine to the humanities and social sciences. Since they spend most of their time in their advisors’ home departments, it’s rare for them to cross paths with fellow IPhD students.

That’s why the annual fall luncheon is such a valuable tradition. Held this year at the HUB, it gave students and faculty a chance to reconnect, welcome new faces, and share quick updates on their research. Faculty advisors added their perspectives, highlighting how their fields intersect with their students’ research.

Program Director Mark Zachry, pictured in the group photo (center) reflects that events like these help bring the IPhD community together—creating space for collaboration, conversation, and connection.
