
Kris has a strong interest in complex social systems theory. He is particularly focused on how small-scale human interactions aggregate into society-wide effects, and how those effects, in turn, further drive individual behavior. Such feedback loops appear throughout the social sciences, from the formation of governments to trade patterns and fashion trends. In addition to an Interdisciplinary PhD, he holds an MA in Economics from the University of Washington. Before his research career, he worked in software development, and those programming skills have proven useful for testing and simulating social models. Currently a Seattleite, he counts San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis among his previous homes. Read more >
