This past weekend 14 students from our ITE Student Chapter, consisting of engineering and planning majors, attended the 2024 ITE Western District Student Leadership Summit hosted at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Students had the opportunity to learn more about transportation projects in California, network with transportation industry leaders, and engage with like-minded transportation students along the West Coast. Highlights included a tour of San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority Bus Facility, presentations from transportation YouTubers, including fellow UW alum Ray Delahanty (CityNerd), and a walking tour of Downtown San Luis Obispo. We hope to continue to participate in this annual event and provide students the opportunity to engage with future leaders interested in transportation.
