Congratulations to GridLab’s Dr. Lila Levinson who just successfully defended her Neuroscience Thesis “Cortico-Cortical Evoked Potentials to Probe Neuroplasticity: Methodological Considerations and Contextualization” – I’m excited to see what you do next Lila!
Teaching & Mentoring
Start of the Academic Year 2023-2024
This quarter I’ll be teaming up with CSE Professor Rajesh Rao to teach Neural Engineering: BIOEN 460/560, EE 460/560, CSE 490N. The course is focused on introducing the wide field of neural engineering to senior undergraduates and graduate students, including the organization of the nervous system, brain computer interfaces, neural device design, and neuroethics. Thanks in advance to the guest speakers that have also agreed to present to the class, and for anyone who is registered for the course and reading this – looking forward to seeing you in class!
Congratulations to Dr. Tomasz Fraczek on his successful Neuroscience PhD dissertation defense!
Congratulations to my advisee Dr. Tomasz Fraczek for the successful defense of his thesis “Chronic Monitoring and Longitudinal Efficacy of Neuromodulation for Neurological Movement Disorders“! It’s been a pleasure working with you Tomasz for the last 4 years – best of luck in your future pursuits!
Mentored student work at the UW Undergraduate Research Symposium
GridLab-affiliated undergraduate students Iman Tanumihardja and Medha Gupta presented their work with recent PhD graduate Courtnie Paschall and post-bacc/research analyst Sophia Lowe-Hines on using virtual reality to induce the rubber hand illusion at the University of Washington’s annual undergraduate research symposium! Great work team!
Start of the Academic Year 2022-2023
This upcoming spring quarter I’ll be teaming up with CSE Professor Rajesh Rao to teach a new course EEP 598/CSEP 590: Neural Devices, Systems and Computation. The course is a new Professional Master’s degree course designed around a four-part series of individual projects to develop software programming interfaces for real-time closed-loop control of distributed neural systems to treat disorders such as epilepsy and includes weekly guest lecturers from the neurotechnology industry. Thanks in advance to the guest speakers that have also agreed to present to the class, and for anyone who is registered for the course and reading this – looking forward to seeing you in class!
