Bachelor's Degree & Unofficial Transcripts

Entrance into the M3D PhD program requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Your unofficial transcript must be uploaded to your academic history in your application.

We don’t have specific pre-requisite courses, and you do not need a Master’s degree. However, we expect that you’ve taken (and done well in) various STEM classes. More importantly, we evaluate your research experience and aptitude – often reflected in your personal statement and in the comments provided by your references.

If you accept an offer of admission, at that point, official transcripts are required — UW Graduate School Official Transcript Requirements

Minimum 3.0 GPA

The UW Graduate School requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or 3.0 for your most recent 90 graded quarter credits (60 semester credits). However, our admissions committee faculty reviews all applications holistically. If your GPA is below 3.0, contact our admin at m3d@uw.edu to discuss your application.
