Thesis Project Title: Rapamycin Protection from Cardiac Aging is Mediated by Proteostasis
My work focuses on investigating the specific remodeling of the proteome due to aging and during cardiac function rejuvenation due to certain aging interventions in a murine model. Secondarily, I combine this information with concurrent studies using metabolomics, functional data, and healthspan studies. The applications of characterizing proteomic changes include detecting changes due to aging between different organisms, tissues, cells, and therapeutic strategies so that we might eventually combat the age-related loss of protein homeostasis.
