Researchers with backgrounds under-represented in the sciences are particularly encouraged to apply.

Staff scientist:

    • This staff scientist position is focused on running and improving a Python-based image analysis pipeline , to address original research questions in actin cytoskeletal cell biology.
    • Other job areas include: conducting mammalian and stem cell culture;  fluorescence microscopy (confocal, lattice light-sheet)
    • Background in computational image analysis, data science, or Python-based analysis preferred
    • Other potential interests/background include molecular biology, computer programming, computational modeling, machine learning, collaborative notetaking and knowledge management tools
    • View the posting and apply here – open until Feb 19

Postdoctoral fellow:

    • Interdisciplinary, microscopy and/or quantitative, computational experience is encouraged (but not required).
    • Express your interest in the following form and apply here

PhD student:

    • The lab is accepting PhD students for the upcoming year.
    • Students will carry out interdisciplinary research on the mechanical relationship between the actin cytoskeleton and cellular membrane trafficking, and learn a combination of techniques ranging from fluorescence microscopy, stem cell culture, and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, computational image analysis, and modeling.
    • Express your interest in the following form
    • Visit the UW Biology admissions page for details on how to apply.

Undergraduate:

    • We are not currently accepting undergraduates, but will in the summer.  If you are interested in a summer internship, you can fill out the following form.
