Researchers with backgrounds under-represented in the sciences are particularly encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral fellow:

    • Interdisciplinary, quantitative, computational, and/or fluorescence microscopy experience is encouraged (but not required).
    • Express your interest in the following form and apply here

Staff scientist:

    • The researcher will work closely with other lab members, pilot new techniques, and carry out original research addressing questions about the biophysical role of  the actin cytoskeleton in endocytosis.
    • Techniques (which can be learned in the lab) will include biophysical modeling, fluorescence microscopy and stem cell culture.
    • Position closing soon! Express your interest in the following form and by sending Matt an email

PhD student:

    • The lab is accepting PhD students for the upcoming year.
    • Students will carry out interdisciplinary research on the mechanical relationship between the actin cytoskeleton and cellular membrane trafficking, and learn a combination of techniques ranging from fluorescence microscopy, stem cell culture, and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, computational image analysis, and modeling.
    • Express your interest in the following form
    • Visit the UW Biology admissions page for details on how to apply.

Undergraduate:

    • The lab will be accepting new undergraduate students starting Winter 2024.
    • We are currently especially seeking undergraduate students with experience and/or interest in computational and/or mechanical techniques. No biology background or experience is needed.
    • Express your interest in the following form
