Preclinical Common Data Elements for Antiseizure Pharmacology Studies

Through the concerted efforts of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) and the American Epilepsy Society (AES), a series of common data elements for preclinical epilepsy research have been developed. Dr. Melissa Barker-Haliski was co-chair of the Pharmacology Task Force to develop common data elements for preclinical antiseizure drug development. This work issued a number of case report forms (CRFs) and identified common data elements (CDEs) for use by investigators worldwide. Dr. Barker-Haliski is lead author on the recent publication that provides assistance with implementation of these CDEs.

Additional feedback is now being solicited from the community to refine these CDEs and CRFs.
