Tuna Basibek Awarded International Research Fellowship

Tuna Basibek

Ph.D. Candidate Tuna Basibek has been awarded an International Research Fellowship from the UW Graduate School for his dissertation project Empire, Mobility and Boundary-Making in Northeastern Anatolia: The Circassian Refugees in Russian-Ottoman Borderland, 1860-1890.  Mr. Basibek will use the 3-month fellowship to conduct research in Turkey in Spring 2021.


Solmaz Shakerifard Awarded International Research Fellowship

Solmaz Shakerifard

Solmaz Shakerifard has been awarded an International Research Fellowship from the UW Graduate School for her dissertation project Aural-Aesthetics of Modernity: Iranian Classical Music and its Relationship with the ‘West’.  Ms. Shakerifard will use the 3-month fellowship to conduct research in Iran in Spring 2021.


Roman Pomeshchikov Awarded International Research Fellowship

NME PhD Candidate Roman Pomeshchikov

Ph.D. Candidate Roman Pomeshchikov has been awarded an International Research Fellowship from the UW Graduate School for his dissertation project The politics of digital transformation and bureaucratic change in Turkey and Uzbekistan.  Mr. Pomeshchikov will use the 3-month fellowship to conduct research in Uzbekistan in Spring or Summer 2021.
