Position: Autism Therapy Assistant/School Aide for 2017-2018 School Year in a private Christian school located in Bothell, WA.

This position is supervised by a Board Certified Applied Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).

This position is especially suitable for individuals who are considering careers in behavioral analysis, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, special education, or other careers in working with children on the autism spectrum as there are opportunities for observations and collaboration with SLP, OT, and BCBA.

Approximate Hours: Monday through Friday 11:30am-3:00 pm or 9 am-noon. This position is for 2017-2018 school year. Position will start in the summer with training sessions if the successful candidate is available.

Position Description: We are looking for a team-player to join our therapy team. The school aide/Autism Therapy Assistant will work under the direction of Board Certified Behavioral Analyst [BCBA] and work collaboratively with teachers, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, and parents to ensure academic and social growth in the student. The school aide will provide both academic and social support in a mainstream classroom and lunch room setting to ensure positive experience for the student. Academic support includes worksheet modification, some one-on-one teaching, etc. Social support includes engaging in games and facilitating peer conversations, etc. The therapy assistant will also work with the student to improve life skills in the community.

Requirements:
Must meet school religious requirement (Christian or Catholic)
Must have experience working with children or teens
Must be a team player and an excellent communicator
Must be willing to learn and attend training sessions when asked
Must attend team meetings
Must have reliable transportation.
Must commit to work the 2017-2018 school year

Preferred Candidate Experiences:
Preferred candidate would have experience working with children/teens ages 8-15 on the autism spectrum.
Preferred candidate would have a Bachelor Degree or currently enrolled in one of the following subjects: Education, Special Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Speech Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders.
