Volunteer Classroom Aide: Rosen Family Preschool – ASL/English Bilingual Classroom
When: Mondays through Thursdays – 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Volunteers may sign up for full days or partial days, as long as they commit to those shifts for the entire quarter. Rosen is in session from Fall-Spring quarter.
What: Classroom Aides support the learning of young children ages 2 to 5 in our ASL/English Bilingual Classroom. We have deaf and hearing students in our classroom, all of whom are at different stages of fluency in American Sign Language. The primary language of group instruction is ASL as we strive to create a fully accessible immersion environment for our students.
Who: We request that volunteers have the ASL skill equivalency of at least 3 courses. This is a great opportunity for teachers in training, ASL students, and native ASL signers.
