Detailed Job Description
The Speech-Language position needed is 10 months.
- Provide speech-language services to students and faculty/staff
- Provide walk-in services in the Speech & Language Center to students and faculty/staff
- Participate in and contribute to Speech-Language discipline meetings
- Participate in and contribute to CSS department meetings
- Engage in professional and communication development activities
- Participate on department committees
- Expand role as skill and leadership growth permit
Dual Certification Exempt Staff SLP/AuD Position (preferred):
The Dual Certification position needed is 11 months and includes all above mentioned speech-language services with the following additional audiology services.
a. Provide clinical audiological assessments to students, faculty/staff, Osher, and others in the RIT community as appropriate
b. Provide clinical audiological services to students, faculty/staff, Osher, and others in the RIT community as appropriate, including hearing aid
recommendations and programming, FM systems, cochlear implant mapping, and audiological rehabilitation
c. Provide walk-in/on-call services in the Audiology Center, which includes but is not limited to, hearing aid and cochlear implant
troubleshooting, earmolds, sales, telephone inquiries, and appointment scheduling.
d. Participate in and contribute to Audiology discipline meetings
e. Understand and utilize procedures and protocols as outlined in discipline manuals and outcomes assessment reporting
f. Complete annual appraisal process and clinic reports as required on time as dictated by the disciplines
Required Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Holds ASHA (American Speech-Language Hearing Association) Certificates of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
Holds New York State license in Speech Language Pathology or eligible/in progress.
Proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture or willingness to learn.
Required Minimum Education Level
MS, MA, PhD
