Are you ready to be part of a team that will plan, deliver, and evaluate patient speech / communication therapy? We’re currently looking for a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team at Rainier School in Buckley, Washington.
This is an opportunity to work with and learn from an experienced Speech Language Pathologist. You will help tailor evaluations and treatment plans to clients that have a wide range of abilities and serve a population that often goes overlooked by private practice. This experience will be invaluable as you continue your career and education.
Some of what you’ll do:
- Conduct direct therapy and programs as instructed by the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Work with clients to increase or maintain their speech, communication, or eating/swallowing adaptive abilities and to increase their interactions with the environment
- May conduct therapy in group or individual sessions
- Assist SLP in conducting speech-language screening using age-appropriate screening protocols
- Follow and implement treatment plans or protocols developed by SLP
- Document progress toward meeting established outcomes and reporting information to SLP
- Schedule therapy, treatments, assessments, screenings and activities
- Prepare charts, records, graphs and data
- Develop therapy and treatment plans in accordance with Federal Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID)
- Participate in continuing education and Para-professional development
What we’re looking for:
For those Therapy Aides working for Speech Pathologists, only a Bachelor’s degree with a major study in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders may be required.
OR
A Bachelor’s degree, as evidenced by transcripts, from a speech, language, and hearing program from an approved institution of higher education.
OR
An Associate of arts or sciences degree, or a certificate of proficiency, from a speech-language pathology assistant program from an approved institution of higher education, as evidenced by the following:
- Transcripts showing forty-five quarter hours or thirty semester hours of speech-language pathology coursework and
- Transcripts showing forty-five quarter hours or thirty semester hours of general education credit
Please be prepared to provide a copy of your college transcripts to verify degree information. Applicants may provide transcripts with application or may be requested by hiring team at a later date.
