We have exciting opportunities for speech-language pathology clinical fellows to join our team in providing broad based, cutting-edge services at one of Texas’ leading academic health science centers. The clinical fellowship is a one year residency position beginning in June or July 2018. During this one year appointment, residents fulfill requirements for the ASHA Clinical Fellowship Year, and Texas Speech-Language Pathology Intern license.
The speech-language pathology staff of UTMB’s Center for Audiology and Speech Pathology provide a variety of speech-language pathology services for inpatients and outpatients of all ages.
Services include:
- infant and toddler feeding assessments
- pediatric and adult modified barium swallow services
- fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing
- videostroboscopy and voice treatment
- assessment and treatment of tracheostomy and ventilator dependent patients
- speech rehabilitation for head and neck cancer patients
- speech, language, and cognitive-linguistic assessments.
Two positions are offered this year. One position will focus primarily on adult services and the other will focus primarily on pediatric services. Some overlap occurs for basic services.
