SLP Position at Sky Bridge Therapies (Lakewood, WA)

Sky Bridge Therapies is seeking a Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist to join their team!

Sky Bridge Therapies is an independent pediatric speech, occupational and feeding therapy clinic in Lakewood, Washington. This facility is therapist and parent owned to provide a unique perspective and approach to therapy for the child and family. Their interdisciplinary approach provides occupational and speech therapy services that can be combined in one session or in back-to-back sessions making therapy more effective and accessible to families.

Each child is evaluated and provided an individualized treatment plan with a play based approach tailored to their needs. The Clinic Director/Head SLP is a certified SOS Feeding Specialist who works with an Occupational Therapist to develop weekly feeding plans and goals for all abilities each week. Their specially designed facility provides a fun, exciting environment that will keep patients motivated in working toward his or her goals.

Sky Bridge Therapies is a 4,400 square foot clinic equipped with a dedicated gym complete with a rock climbing wall, a lycra room, a scooterboard room, a dedicated feeding room, as well as therapy rooms suited for older children and younger children – there is something for everyone! Speech therapists use gyms and individual therapy rooms to help children meet their speech and language goals. Sky Bridge is also launching a teletherapy speech program to assist families who live in remote locations or who have a need for more than one session per week to obtain the treatment their child needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and prepare a plan of care
  • Monitor and assess patient care plans and programs
  • Draft and sign off on SOAP notes for sessions in a timely manner
  • Observe SLPA sessions and mentoring
  • Work in a collaborative environment with occupational therapists
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment

Qualifications:

  • Speech Therapist certified and licensed to work in Washington State
  • Previous experience working with children with special needs
  • Ability to build rapport with children and communicate with parents effectively and compassionately
  • Passion to help and motivate others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to observe speech therapy assistants and provide feedback and treatment recommendations for patients
  • Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary approach with occupational therapists in co-treatment sessions
  • Ability to teach new approaches and concepts to occupational and speech therapists.
  • Ability to review and sign off on notes in a timely manner
  • Ability to complete reports and notes in an EMR system.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $75,000 – $80,000 (full-time)
  • Includes medical, dental, vision, and PTO
