Carpe Diem Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Speech and Language Pathologist or SLPA in the Tacoma, Washington area! Key job responsibilities include the following: evaluate and re-evaluate students/patients, create treatment plans, provide individual therapy services, work with teachers, other disciplines (PT, OT and ABA) school personnel and parents to provide the best care for the student/patient.

Desired Qualifications:

· 1+ to 2 years of experience

· College degree

· Speech Therapist

Requirements for SLP:
-Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
-Candidate must be in good standing with the State of Florida and have an active license
-Candidate must have Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) awarded from ASHA
-Candidate must be credentialed to work with insurance companies or have a CAQH number.
-School experience is preferred
-Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred but not required

Duties of SLP:

-Assess clients for the speech therapy services, goal development, and treatment planning.
-Coordinate with other professionals both inside and outside of agency to coordinate care, and make recommendations for other appropriate services.
-Use evidence-based practice during treatment sessions to teach clients to control or strengthen tongue, jaw, face muscles, or breathing mechanisms, develop speech exercise programs to reduce disabilities, educate patient’s family members about various topics, like communication techniques, strategies to cope with or to avoid personal misunderstandings, language development, and cognitive skills.
-Complete administrative responsibilities, like coordinating paperwork, scheduling case management activities, or writing lesson plans.
-Understand basic office and administrative duties.
-Timely completion of daily documentation of patient progress toward meeting established objectives, progress reports, assessment reports and discharge reports.
-Assist in providing parent education in the form of blog posts, short videos and written handouts.
-Assist, supervise, and mentor other therapists within your team and in other departments.
