CF Position at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

The Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Clinical Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for new graduates to develop the specialized skills to provide the highest quality speech therapy to children from birth to 21 years old. Upon completion, our fellows are well-prepared with a strong foundation of concepts and knowledge to provide evidence based care, act as strong patient and family advocates, and be a vital contributor to the advancement of the profession.

  • Participation in the California Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (CA-LEND) program

Details:

  • 13-month fellowship beginning in September
  • Clinical evaluation and treatment experience in motor speech, language, cognition, swallowing, cleft palate and craniofacial related disorders.
  • Hands-on training and experience in three specialty clinical tracks throughout the year, including:
    • Boone Fetter Clinic (specialized interdisciplinary autism clinic)
    • Craniofacial and Cleft Care Clinic
    • The USC Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) Clinic
  • The CA-LEND training program is 32-week training program with a curriculum consisting of seven modules that cover multiple diagnostic and therapeutic experiences. For more information on the CA-LEND program please visit http://www.uscucedd.org/what-wedo/training-programs/ca-lend.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Newly graduated SLPs undergoing their clinical fellowship year
  • Graduate of an accredited SLP Master’s program
  • Must be eligible for the state of California RPE and ASHA’s clinical fellowship
