POSITION: Speech-Language Pathologist
EFFECIVE DATE: 2020-2021 School Year
SALARY: $57,899 to $72,000 DOE/187 day school year
LOCATION: Elementary, Middle or High School buildings in Great Falls Public Schools
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Speech Pathology; Eligibility for Montana licensure required
RESPONSIBILITIES: Speech-Language Pathologists serve one or two buildings in the Great Falls District. Responsibilities include:
- Assess, consult, and serve students with speech/language deficits
- Participate in discussions of classroom supports and interventions
- Collaborate with teachers to provide ongoing supports to children
- Serve as a resource regarding district, state, and federal policies
- Participate in Professional Learning Community meetings with the speech team (14 members) to coordinate services, discuss practice, participate in case studies and build the skills of all team members

Great Falls Public Schools serves the Great Falls area and includes 15 elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, an alternative high school and a public preschool. The total district enrollment is approximately 10,250 students. Teachers serve one building with some buildings offering a continuum of services and multiple special education classrooms.
Great Falls is a community of approximately 60,000 located on the banks of the Missouri River and serves as an economic and shopping hub for the area. Recreational activities include almost 60 miles of hiking and biking trails along the scenic Missouri River and the great falls of the Missouri. In addition Great Falls is located mid-way between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and is only 60 miles from the Rocky Mountain Front, the Gates of the Mountains and skiing opportunities at the Showdown Ski area. Community events include the Great Falls Symphony, minor league baseball and hockey teams and a rich array of high school sports events. The Great Falls area is famous for great fishing hunting, hiking and access to the Bob Marshall Wilderness area.
The community is also home to Malmstrom Air Force Base, home of the 341st Missile Wing and the Montana Air National Guard’s 120th Air Lift Wing.
Finally, the area is rich in western heritage including the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, Giant Spring State Park, the First Peoples Buffalo Jump, and in the summer, area rodeos. In addition Native American cultural events, Indian Relay Races Powwows and the pageantry of Native American Dancers serve to preserve the rich heritage of the area as well as provide opportunities to learn about the history and tradition of the area.
