The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System is currently accepting applications for a
Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship candidate for 2021-2022

The Southern Arizona VA in Tucson, AZ is offering an exciting Clinical Fellowship experience serving inpatients, outpatients, and rehabilitation residents of our Community Living Center. This dynamic setting will offer training in evaluation and treatment of adults with cognitive-communication impairments, aphasia, motor speech disorders,
swallowing disorders/dysphagia and voice disorders. Over the course of the rotation, the Clinical Fellow can expect training in performing swallow evaluations (bedside, fluoroscopic, and endoscopic), endoscopic voice evaluations, post laryngectomy voice restoration, language and cognitive evaluations/therapy, transgender voice and communication
therapy, as well as assistive technology for augmenting communication and cognition. The CF will work professionally with a variety of specialty services and interdisciplinary teams, some of which include: Nursing, PT/OT, Nutrition, Otolaryngology, Polytrauma/TBI clinic, Transgender clinic, multidisciplinary ALS clinic, and General Medicine.

Tucson boasts a truly unique culture, landscape, and food scene. Central and Downtown Tucson are full of shops, restaurants, breweries, and activities. The Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, historic Tucson Rodeo, El Tour de Tucson, as well as the All Souls Procession are annual events not to miss. With 350 sunny days a year, our outdoor activities are
bountiful (hiking, biking, climbing, etc.). Summers are hot (but it is a “dry” heat), and winters are lovely! Weekend or day trips can take you to snow, water, more mountains, and even the Grand Canyon.

*The position is tentatively scheduled to begin during the Summer to early Fall of 2021 and is a full time, 12-month
commitment (M-F 40 hrs/wk), with a compensation package including salary, health benefits, sick and annual leave.
*These are temporary appointments without potential to become permanent positions.
