The Division of Speech and Language Pathology in the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Binghamton University invites applications for two full-time, tenure track faculty members at the rank of assistant professor. We welcome all applicants from all areas of interest, although applicants with teaching and research interests in neurogenic communication disorders, swallowing, voice, augmentative and alternative communication disorders, and autism are of particular interest.
These are 10-month appointments with an opportunity to teach in both the Undergraduate Minor and the planned Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology. The Masters of Science in Speech and Language Pathology is currently in the application stage. There is an opportunity for participating in doctoral training in one of the interdisciplinary programs on campus. Job responsibilities include teaching, research activity (e.g., mentoring students, grant writing, publications and conference presentations), and service to the program, college, university, community, and profession.
The successful applicant will have a research doctorate (PhD or EdD) in speech language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP and are eligible or hold a license to practice Speech and Language Pathology in New York. Preference will be given to candidates who show evidence of a successful research agenda or potential to develop such a plan, as well as a record of excellence in traditional or online formats in area of expertise.
