TWO Speech Pathology Clinical Fellowship Positions

The Speech Pathology Section at the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center located in Long Beach, CA is pleased to announce a vacancy for TWO Clinical Fellowship positions with a desired start date of October 2024.  The Clinical Fellowship is a full-time position with a compensation package that includes salary ($47,711), health benefits, and sick and annual leave.  This is a temporary appointment that will last for one year.  Only US citizens are eligible to apply.

Located along the Southern California coast, the medical center provides comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and extended care programs.  The Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center is a 426-bed facility providing comprehensive health care in medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, spinal cord injury, geriatrics, blind rehabilitation, and extended care.  We are also looking forward to the grand opening of our new Community Living Center, anticipated Fall 2024.  In addition, the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center is a Level III Polytrauma Center.

The Clinical Fellows can expect to gain experience in all areas of medical speech pathology, including evaluation and treatment of individuals with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.  In addition, the Clinical Fellows will receive training and experience in the following:  fluoroscopic and endoscopic swallowing evaluations, augmentative communication, laryngeal stroboscopy, and post-laryngectomy voice restoration.  Patients are seen along the continuum of care from intensive care, acute rehabilitation, outpatient care, and long-term care.
