Speech Pathology Clinical Fellowship Opportunity

The Speech Pathology program at the San Francisco VA System of Care provides diagnostic and rehabilitative services for acute and critical care inpatients, out-patients (including telehealth delivery of care), short stay in-patient rehabilitation and residents of our Community Living Center for Veteran populations ranging from young adult to geriatric. The CF will provide services in all areas of medical speech pathology, and may also gain specialized experience in endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, tracheostomy, post-laryngectomy voice restoration, AAC use particularly in the ALS population. The SFVA Medical Center has 1 of the 6 PADRECC Centers in the VHA and the CF will gain experience in treating PD voice and swallowing with all supervisors being LSVT and Speak Out! certified clinicians.
The SFVA Medical Center is an integral part of the medical residency program of UC San Francisco and enjoys a dynamic teaching/learning environment. The CF will interact with a variety of specialty services, including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, Critical Care, Otolaryngology, Oncology, Radiology, Pulmonary, OT/PT, Nutrition, Nursing, Palliative Care and Respiratory Therapy.
We are seeking a clinical fellow with a strong interest in general medical speech pathology and with internship experience in the acute care medical setting. The candidate must have the ability to learn in a fast-paced clinical environment. LSVT and/or Speak Out! Certification and FEES experience is a plus.
General Information:
- CF position is a temporary appointment, full time for 12 months beginning in August 2024
- Only US citizens are eligible to apply
- Graduation from a fully accredited Speech-Language Pathology graduate program (M.A. or M.S.)
- $50,986.00 stipend plus medical and leave benefits
