The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System is currently accepting applications for one Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship candidate for 2024-2025

The Southern Arizona VA in Tucson, AZ is offering an exciting Clinical Fellowship experience serving inpatients, outpatients, and rehabilitation residents of our Community Living Center. This dynamic setting provides training in evaluation and treatment of adults with cognitive-communication impairments, aphasia, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, and voice disorders. The Clinical Fellow will gain experience in performing swallow evaluations (bedside, fluoroscopic, and endoscopic), endoscopic voice evaluations, post-laryngectomy voice restoration, language and cognitive evaluations and treatment, gender-affirming voice and communication, as well as assistive technology for augmenting communication and cognition. The CF will work professionally with a variety of specialty services and interdisciplinary teams, such as ENT, Polytrauma/TBI clinic, Transgender & Gender Diverse clinic, ALS clinic, PT/OT, Nutrition, Nursing, and General Medicine.

Tucson boasts a unique culture, landscape, and food scene. Central and Downtown Tucson are full of shops, restaurants, breweries, and activities. The Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, Tucson Rodeo, El Tour de Tucson, and All Souls Procession are annual events not to be missed. With 350 sunny days a year our outdoor activities are bountiful (hiking, biking, climbing). Summers are hot (but it is a “dry” heat) and winters are lovely! Weekend or day trips can take you to snow, water, more mountains, and even the Grand Canyon.

*The position is tentatively scheduled to begin during the Summer to early Fall of 2024 and is a full time, 12-month commitment (M-F 40 hrs/wk), with a compensation package including salary, health benefits, sick and annual leave.
*This is a temporary appointment without potential to become a permanent position.
