Wapato Public Schools
Hiring SLPs
Central Washington

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students? Are you seeking an opportunity to work in a
caring community where your skills and dedication can thrive? Look no further than the Wapato School District, nestled
in the heart of Central Washington on the Yakama Nation Reservation.

At Wapato School District, we are committed to providing our students, who are primarily Hispanic and Native American,
with the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. As a speech language pathologist, you will
play a crucial role in this mission, helping to identify and address the unique needs of each student within our diverse
community.

What sets us apart is our small, close-knit community, where educators are valued and supported. In Wapato, you’ll find a
welcoming environment where collaboration and compassion are the norm. Our district is more than just a place to
work—it’s a family.

Wapato is conveniently located near several communities, including Yakima, where housing opportunities await. But it’s not just about work—Central Washington offers a wealth of recreational activities for those who love the great outdoors. From skiing and fishing to camping and hiking, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Take advantage of our stunning natural surroundings and make the most of your downtime.

In addition to our outdoor attractions, our community celebrates its rich cultural heritage through various events and festivals. Families participate in our annual Cultural Unity Fair, Pow Wows, Tamale Festival, Harvest Festivals, Sukiyaki Dinner, Bean Feed, Filipino Community Celebrations and more! These events foster a sense of belonging and pride within our community, both inside and outside the school district.

If you are looking for a placement as a speech language pathologist intern, you’ll receive competitive compensation. When you’re ready to take the next step in your career and your university supervisor is supportive of you pursuing a conditional ESA certificate, we will be there to help you in this endeavor. We are dedicated to ensuring that you have the qualifications you need to succeed. Our certificated salary schedule is attached for your reference. Aside from a very competitive salary package, which includes 15 extra days above and beyond what other certificated staff in the district qualify for, we provide bilingual assessment specialists to assist in the evaluation process for our students.

Join us in Wapato and become part of a team dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of students. Together, we can create a brighter future for our community. If you have any questions, please reach out via my email address or phone
number below.

To apply, please visit our website at https://ewjcjobs.hrmplus.net/JobOpenings.aspx and apply under Wapato Speech Language Pathologist, which is located under our Certificated Specialist positions. We look forward to welcoming you to the Wapato School District family.
