SLP Position in Oak Harbor Public Schools

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate with SLP endorsement
  • Current license for billing Medicaid
  • Strong language development background
  • Ability to evaluate and write IEP’s
  • Ability to relate positively to and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable Washington State and Federal rules and regulations
  • Flexibility, and positive attitude required
  • Personal vehicle is required for transportation to various sites
  • Experience working in a school setting preferred

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a 1.0 FTE position. The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluative, habilitative (therapy), and consultation services for students with disabilities in need of language, speech, or hearing therapy.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Terms of employment for a 1.0 FTE certificated staff member during the 2019-2020 school year include a 182-day work year and supplemental pay, which is available after meeting district requirements. Each employee is also eligible to receive twelve sick leave days and three annual leave days. Salary placement is based on the State Salary Schedule. For the 2018-2019 school year, the total compensation ranges from $53,725 for a person with a Bachelor’s degree and no experience to $102,479 for a person with a Master’s degree + 90 credits and 16 years of experience. During the 2018-2019 school year, $843.97 per month is provided to help a full-time employee defray the cost of health premiums that includes mandatory dental, vision, and long term disability insurance; and optional medical, salary, and life insurance. If employed less than full time (1.0 FTE), days, salary, and health premiums are pro-rated based on FTE.
