The Springfield College Department of Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-track faculty position in Communication Sciences and Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology at the Assistant
Professor level, beginning August 2021. Successful candidates will have an earned doctorate in communication sciences and disorders or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in speech-language pathology or a related field, a specialty in adult disorders (neurogenic communication disorders, aphasia, dementia, motor speech disorders, or dysphagia), a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Massachusetts licensure (or ability to obtain licensure) in speech-language pathology, and teaching experience. Previous experience in
program development and expertise in aging/gerontology will also be welcome.
Springfield College offers an undergraduate major in Communication Sciences and Disorders, which prepares students for graduate study in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and for Massachusetts licensure as a speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA). The new hire will play a vital role in the establishment of a new master’s program in speech-language pathology. The primary responsibilities are teaching, mentoring, advising, and clinical supervision of students. Additional responsibilities include scholarship and service to the School,
College, and profession.
The School of Health Sciences includes programs in Physician Assistant Studies, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Health Sciences.
