SPEECH PATHOLOGY CLINICAL FELLOWSHIP TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

The VA Puget Sound Health Care System Clinical Fellowships provide experience medical speech pathology. Outcomes and evidence based practice is emphasized. The Clinical Fellow may have opportunity for specialized training in endoscopy, post laryngectomy voice restoration, and assistive technology. The Clinical Fellow will work closely with a
variety of specialty services and teams, including Rehabilitation Medicine, Nutrition, Otolaryngology, Neurology, Neuropsychology, Primary Care, Multiple Sclerosis and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Care Teams, Spinal Cord Injury and Disease Unit, and the Traumatic Brain Injury/Polytrauma Program.
This yearlong Clinical Fellowship is divided into 3-4 separate rotations, located at both the Seattle and American Lake Divisions. The Seattle division offers training in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and spinal cord injury units, a community living center, and specialty outpatient clinics. The American Lake division (in Lakewood, Washington) offers training in outpatient clinics, the community living center, and specialty teams (e.g. ALS, Polytrauma, Stroke). Our staff
are devoted to our training/mentoring program and Clinical Fellows can expect to work closely with their clinical supervisors. We are seeking applicants with a strong interest in medical speech pathology, an ability to learn in a fast pace environment, have a strong academic background, and some clinical experience in a medical setting.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
* CF positions are twelve months. Tentatively scheduled to begin late August 2021.
* CF positions are 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with a compensation package that includes salary, health
benefits, and sick and annual leave.
* These are temporary appointments without potential to become permanent positions.
