Position: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
Hours: PT/FT work schedule available ranging from 25‐40 hours per week with benefits
Salary Range: $27,527.25 ‐ $66,075.60 Depending on Experience and Hours/Week

SCOPE: The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant is responsible for the implementation of treatment plans developed by supervising SLP for children age birth to eight years old in a clinic or community‐based program setting. This includes participating in a multi‐disciplinary team with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Therapists, Public Health Nurses and Special Educators monitoring treatment progress, and participating with team members two times per month at clinical pediatric meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Professional interaction with one or more supervising SLPs during weekly one on ones
  • Review of completed documentation on children to be added to caseload prior to start of service
  • Providing direct therapy services addressing treatment goals developed by the supervising SLP to meet the needs of the client, including offering parent participation during treatment to encourage parent involvement and training.
  • Monitor treatment progress by administering and scoring screenings for clinical interpretation by the SLP
  • Participate with team members on a regular basis and provide inter‐disciplinary consultations with other therapists as needed
  • Complete written daily treatment notes to document services rendered
  • Maintain records on each child as mandated to monitor progress
  • Monitor and track caseload requirements with on‐going new referrals
  • Participate in staff development/training opportunities
  • Attend Bi‐monthly team meetings
  • Developing low tech AAC materials and programming high tech AAC devices as needed
  • Commuting to our Early Learning Center to provide group‐based speech therapy to preschool students using both pull‐out and push‐in service delivery models and collaborating with their teachers as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

  • Valid Washington DOH Certified Speech and Language Pathology Assistant license
  • Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check if not in state for more than the past 3 years
  • Ability to work as a member of a team

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • At least one year of pediatric experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is an active job requiring lifting of up to 50 lbs, frequently squatting, sitting on the floor and active work with children. Incumbent may come into contact with bodily fluid.
