Here is a video to learn a little bit more about the us:  Hermiston School District Video

A few things about Hermiston School District:

  • Facilitator Model:  We have certified Special Education teachers who facilitate IEPs as their full time position.  This means a whole lot less paperwork for our specialists.  This team (and their bilingual support staff) schedule all meetings and do almost all of the paperwork in the IEP process.  SLPs would need to do their evaluations and write their reports, add their particular pieces (goals, minutes, consultation)into the IEP writing system (Synergy), and participate in the meetings… and the team takes care of the rest of the paperwork.
  • Current Speech Language Pathology Team:  4 SLPs and 3 SLPAs.  We are looking to expand!
  • Demographics:  54% Hispanic,
  • Most importantly…We have a fantastic team and are fun to work with!!!

Why work with Hermiston School District?

  • In addition to an excellent benefits package, retirement program, and competitive salary, many of our staff members enjoy working during school hours with time off during normal school holidays and breaks.

SLP/CF School Employment Opportunity (Southern Oregon)

Douglas Education Service District
Southern Oregon
Live Life in the Umpqua Valley

I like to use the phrase “Grow your career here!” because that is what our 3-year mentorship program does.  We have three Department Mentors in the areas of clinical supervision, onboarding, and district processes, and teletherapy.  Currently, we are only seeking in-person SLPs to join our team of 30 SLP/As serving K-12 throughout Douglas County.  We have five anticipated, single-site, openings in Oakland, Sutherlin, and Roseburg school districts.  These positions would replace contractors, a tele-therapist, and one retirement.  Caseload numbers would be less than 50, with opportunities to work with a range of communication disorders.  If someone wants more experience with complex communication needs, or to move toward that specialty, we have a strong AAC support team and process.

This year is a negotiation year with our union, and I anticipate some very positive changes to our SLP benefits for direct hires.  At this time, we do offer a $10K sign-on bonus for a 3-year agreement, aligning with plenty of time to benefit from our supportive mentorship program:

  • Monthly team meetings (regional, department, CFs/Mentors)
  • Goals and feedback
  • Areas of interest
  • Paid externships for those in Master’s program with a Bachelors in Communication Disorders
  • SLPA –> SLP graduate school support up to $30K over three years.

The Douglas ESD participates in ongoing DEI training and considers this integral to proactive growth of awareness in our agency and communities we serve. The vision statement can be found here: https://douglasesd.k12.or.us/equity-vision-statement/

Our Department Mentors and I are available to chat with anyone about the opportunities here.  We offer a lot of personalized support!

Thank you,
