The Airplane Spoon, a new pediatric private practice located in the San Francisco Bay area (Menlo Park) is growing and looking to hire a Clinical Fellow (CF) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Airplane Spoon provides therapy services to children (primarily birth – 6) and their families, with an emphasis on the development of early communication, language, speech, feeding/swallowing, and oral motor skills, as well as providing developmental evaluations and delivering parent coaching support.

Our services are provided through a dual-home model.  Sessions are shared between the families’ homes and The Airplane Spoon’s physical location in Menlo Park – which is designed to look and feel like a home for the children’s and families’ comfort and benefit.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This CF position is specifically designed to support you as a new clinician!

  • Small full-time caseloads (20-30 families max)

  • Few sessions per day (~4-6 sessions max)

CLINICAL SERVICES AND DETAILS

  • Provide both individual and group therapy sessions

  • Children average age range 0 – 6

  • Conduct both clinic-based and home-based sessions (home-based only 1 week a month)

  • Conduct comprehensive developmental assessments and write reports

  • Must act as a Mandated Reporter, and responsible to report any known or suspected adult/child abuse

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree from accredited institution in Speech Language Pathology

  • Valid License from CA Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Board (or in the process of obtaining state license)

  • Preferred clinical experience in early intervention,  AAC, oral-motor, feeding/swallowing

  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured

  • Proof of negative TB test results

  • Verification of physical clearance

  • Passing a criminal fingerprint clearance

  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination and Flu vaccination

  • Possesses and maintains current Infant Child First Aid / CPR certification

QUALIFICATIONS / PREFERENCES: Experience in providing direct consultation and services to children with communication disorders within a public school setting.   • Provide parent/family coaching support
  • Monitor treatment progress
  • Evaluate children for program qualification
  • Develop on-going individualized goals and regular progress reports
  • Participate with team members on a regular basis and provide inter-disciplinary consultations with

    other therapists as needed

  • Complete written daily treatment notes in a timely manner to document services rendered
