The Department of Health and Human Performance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#120030) at the rank of assistant/associate professor for its Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Program. The start date for the position is August 1, 2022. The position is contingent upon funding.

The successful candidate is expected to design and teach courses at the undergraduate level in phonetics, speech sound disorders, anatomy and physiology, and other courses related to the field; supervise undergraduate student clinicians; advise students; participate in public and university service; write grants and conduct research.

Candidates who have expertise in phonological/articulation development and disorders, proficiency in clinical supervision and intervention with linguistically and culturally diverse populations, as well as those with prior experience in teaching phonetics, anatomy, and speech sound disorders will receive special consideration; however, all areas in the field will be considered. In addition, those with two (2) years of clinical experience and those with the ability to apply for Tennessee State Licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competency/SLP once hired will receive special consideration.

Full-Time CF Speech Language Pathologist: Early Support Program Wonderland Child & Family Services

Wonderland is hiring a speech language pathologist to serve children birth to three years of age and their families residing primarily in North King and south Snohomish Counties. This position is responsible for providing evaluation and educational support services for children who are delayed or disabled in a manner impacting their development, thereby reducing the impact of the child’s diagnosis or delay on their skills and abilities. The speech language pathologist also provides coaching, consultation and training services for caregivers of enrolled children, and is an active participant in our transdisciplinary team of therapists, educators, and family resource coordinators. This position reports
to a team therapy supervisor.

Chief responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate each child’s performance in all areas of development using instruments
    and a timetable approved by the agency.
  • Participate in the development of each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Provide direct and indirect services to children with developmental delays or disabilities in their natural learning environments.
  • Provide coaching and consultation for staff, parents and care providers.
  • Attend or conduct conferences/consultations with caregivers.
  • Participate as a member of the transdisciplinary team including caregivers and professional
    staff.
  • Serve as a liaison with the medical and educational community on behalf of enrolled children and their parents/caregivers.
  • Demonstrate a caring, nonjudgmental attitude with every family.
  • Attend scheduled clinical and staff meetings and be an active participant in staff related
    activities.
  • Prepare written reports and chart notes as required by Wonderland Child & Family Services.
  • Provide in-service trainings of staff and volunteers as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • MA or MS degree with a valid license in the state of Washington.
  • CFY student preferrable.
  •  Valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable automobile required.
  • At least one year of working with young children (0-3) and families preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Able to work at a center, in a family’s home, and in a variety of community settings.
  • Physical requirements: able to participate in active floor time including sitting, standing,
    walking and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Current criminal background check maintained for all employees.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable automobile required.

Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Audiology at Nazareth College

POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking applicants interested in joining the faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor in Audiology. This is a tenure-track, nine-month full-time position beginning Spring 2022 or Fall 2022.

Responsibilities include: undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, audiology clinic supervision; mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students; engagement in service at the College and departmental levels; and pursuit of creative and scholarly work, with an emphasis on community engagement and student involvement.

The Nazareth CSD Department comprises undergraduate and graduate programs, with graduate specialties in autism and deafness. The department has 220+ students (81 graduate students), 13 FT faculty, housed in a state-of-the-art facility. Interprofessional collaboration and education are hallmarks of Nazareth College; our on-campus clinics are located in the York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute, a facility that also houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, and creative arts therapy clinics in addition to our own Speech and Language Clinic, Neurogenic Communication and Cognition Clinic, and Audiology Clinic. Our many active on- and off-campus clinics, which annually deliver more than 20,000 hours of service in the community, provide opportunities for clinical supervision and clinically applied research endeavors. The college is located in Rochester, New York, a city noted for its rich arts and cultural community, good school districts, and its international businesses and industry.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. with clinical background preferred (ABD considered); Au.D. with relevant experience in teaching/research will also be considered

  • Eligibility for New York State licensure and ASHA CCC-A
