Job Summary:

A Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients per physician order utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques. They communicate with families, providers and other health team members regarding patients. They maintain timely documentation in the medical record, enters accurate charges for services rendered, and participates in Rehab team meetings and other meetings as needed. They maintain current clinical knowledge through continuing education

Essential Job Functions

  • Determines each patients need for skilled therapy based on objective and documented criteria
  • Evaluates patients on acute within one working day of physicians order
  • Conducts the evaluation according to the standardized or recommended techniques and procedures including timely documentation
  • Develops a treatment plan at the end of the evaluation which includes measurable and objective long and short term goals for each patient based on the evaluation data
  • Follows each treatment plan in an objective, measurable and documented approach
  • Performs Swallow studies in a timely manner and notifies provider of results
  • Works with the front office to maintain a work schedule with patients scheduled appropriately

Yakima School District (YSD) Speech Language Pathologist Compensation 2022/2023 School Year

YSD is looking to hire SLPs for the upcoming school year and is interested in providing supervision for CF candidates! Below is an outline of pay and compensation for SLPs to consider!

First Year

  • $62,320.00 Base Pay – MA+45/Step 0
  • $1,870.00 Enrichment Pay (3% of base pay)
  • $3,116.00 Per Diem Days
  • $2,423.54 49 IEP Writing Hours paid at your hourly rate of $49.46
  • $69,729.54

Total Top of the Salary Schedule

  • $102,698.00 Base Pay – MA+90/Step 16
  • $3,081.00 Enrichment Pay (3% of base pay)
  • $5,135.00 Per Diem Days
  • $3,993.99 49 IEP Writing Hours paid at your hourly rate of $81.51
  • $11,296.00 CCC ($1,000 divided into 12 paychecks; $10,296 lump sum payment in August)
  • $126,203.99 Total

Additional Benefits in the Negotiated Agreement

  • 1:45 SLP to student caseload. Overload pay for each additional student over 45 is $5.56 per school day/$1000 per year. Calculated and paid monthly.
  • Additional hourly pay provided to compensate for Medicaid billing paperwork.
  • Reimbursement for any licensure required to bill Medicaid.
  • Option to attend one in-state conference per school year which includes the price of registration fee, hotel, meals, and gas. In addition, a 2nd in-state conference where the registration is paid.
  • 9 teaming hours (for Elementary) paid at hourly rate.
  • $1,000.00 Doctorate Stipend (divided into 12 paychecks).
  • $1,000.00 SLP Team Leader Stipend ($500 payments in January & June).

Other Benefits

  • CFY supervision provided.
  • CFY supervisor stipend of $3,000.00 for the year.
  • Bilingual Speech Protechs that assist with therapy groups, translation, and administering Spanish assessments.
  • Assessment Specialists that assist with case history, consent, release of records, and parent rating scales.
  • YSD has many specialists to assist with evaluations, including an audiologist, vision specialist, assistive technology specialist, BCBA, autism TOSA, and behavior TOSA (manifestation determinations & FBA/BIP).
  • YSD currently has 26 speech language pathologists to work with. They specialize in different age groups and areas. The group meets once a month to discuss general issues. All are available for consultation through email or phone.
  • 12 annual sick days, 2.5 days of annual leave (can accumulate up to 8 days), 3 family illness days per year (accrue up to 10 days). – $350-$450 for supplies.

Job Description:

The Division of Speech and Language Pathology in the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Binghamton University is hiring for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). The successful candidate will be a creative individual who is responsible for providing therapy with community partners. The assignment will be to work primarily early intervention clients, and other types of populations will also be assigned based on the individuals interest. These are 12-month positions, starting July 1st, 2023 and ending on June 30th, 2024 (Note: there is an option to continue for a second year). The Research Foundation at Binghamton University offers competitive salary and benefit package, which will include the use of a computer and significant continuing education funding.

Each SLP will be assigned a mentor who is a member of the faculty in the Division of Speech and Language Pathology. Furthermore, each SLP will be required to enroll in one Ph.D. course each semester (fall and spring) as well as complete ongoing continuing education experience.

Requirements:

  • Masters in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Sciences and Disorders
  • Candidates must be eligible for New York License Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP and be eligible or hold a license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in New York.

Salary: $58,500 annually
