Let’s Face It Walk for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention

Please join our department and the Partnership for Healthy Parenting (Prison Project) in attending this year’s Let’s Face It Walk on Saturday, May 4. Let’s Face It is an annual walk that benefits the Rebuilding Hope Sexual Assault Center of Pierce County, the mission of which is to provide those affected by sexual assault and sex trafficking with resources and advocacy to promote healing. The name of the walk refers to the desire to face the issue together to fight sexual violence in our community.

Addressing the Gender Pay Gap Forum

This forum will address the causes and consequences of the gender pay gap and will provide insights on your rights, your role and legislative actions.

The UW Women’s Center & the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is hosting this forum on Wednesday, April 17th from 3:30pm – 5pm in the Kane Hall Walker-Ames Room (Rm 225).

Join them for the Addressing the Gender Pay Gap Forum with Policy Director Marilyn Watkins, Ph.D and Advocacy Director Gabriela Quintana of the Economic Opportunity Institute (EOI).

SLP CF Positions at the Winston Center for Attention, Language, & Learning (Spokane, WA)

The Winston Center for Attention, Language, & Learning is a private clinic in Spokane, WA hiring Speech Language Pathologist Clinical Fellows to join their team. Winston Center currently serves children and adults in eastern WA, Idaho, and Montana via in-person appointments and telemed. They specialize in language-based learning disorders, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and executive function disorders (ADHD).

These positions are full-time. Services are provided at our downtown clinic in the University District.

Position Summary: 

  • Responsible for providing individual assessment, therapy and consultation services to children and adults who have language-based learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, other reading/writing disorders, and oral/ written language impacted by executive function deficits/ADHD).
  • Emphasis on providing research-based language and literacy intervention.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information as required.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Must be licensed to practice in Washington State.
  • Must be eligible for Clinical Fellowship
  • We will provide training in literacy intervention and advocacy
  • Must be able to work into afterschool hours/evenings
  • Knowledge of IEPs and 504s useful in helping clients gain appropriate services in the school setting

About the Organization: Winston Center for Attention, Language, and Learning is Spokane’s premier center for the comprehensive assessment and treatment of ADHD, Dyslexia, and Learning Disabilities. Full-Time SLP Position (Burien, WA)

This Full-Time SLP  position is Monday-Friday, full days. The specific Speech therapy caseload at BNR is made up of short-term, post-acute rehab patients who are dealing primarily with cognitive and swallowing evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients within 24-48 hours of physician referral
  • Develop effective speech treatment plans accordingly
  • Treat patients according to the physician’s treatment plan
  • Adhere to facility documentation guidelines
  • Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, and weekly progress notes through Rehab Optima/PCC
  • Participate in discharge planning
  • Work with your supervisor/Rehab Director regarding patient progress and treatment plans
  • Other duties may be outlined by your suppervisor
