The Position: The Department of Communication Arts and Sciences is searching for a tenure track assistant or associate professor to start August 2018.  California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success.  Position is contingent on funding. Minimum Qualifications: The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related areas.  Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, all requirements for the doctorate must be complete prior to the beginning of the academic year 8/2018.  Applicant must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)-SLP and be immediately eligible for California licensure. A commitment to and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds is also required. The successful candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching emphasis in acquired communication disorders and the potential to fill program needs. Experience working with adult and medically-based populations is desired. Experience working with diverse populations and demonstrated potential for scholarship and teaching excellence expected.

Responsibilities: This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of graduate and undergraduate teaching, clinical instruction, research, student advising and mentoring, and service to the department and university. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department. The program utilizes a teacher-scholar model in which teaching is emphasized and professional growth and achievement, including research, is required.

The Department: The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program is in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences, which is one of six departments in the College of Communication and Education. ASHA’s Council on Academic Accreditation accredits the graduate program. There are five tenure/tenure track as well as several part-time faculty for approximately 150 undergraduate and 48 graduate students. The program’s emphasis is primarily directed toward producing the finest clinicians of speech-language pathology. 100% job placement has been consistent over the past decade. Need Student to work with Right Brain Stroke Survivor Cooking 2x Week

Need someone to help my charming and sweet husband cook dinner at least two evenings or late afternoons a week. My spouse had a large right brain stroke but is very physically capable.  He is also quite smart but has short term memory and major initiation, planning, and organization deficits. You will get some excellent insights and experience re right brain stroke issues.

One night needs to be Wednesday or Thursday, the other night can be flexible, though Sunday or Monday would work best for us.  We eat healthy, well-rounded meals and get a farm box every week. Research Audiologist – Heuser Hearing Institute, Louisville, KY

The Heuser Hearing Institute seeks a full-time research audiologist to join its research team.
The audiologist will contribute to a project that develops and evaluates innovative hearing aid
processing strategies for hearing-impaired listeners. The project is a collaboration between
hearing scientists at the Heuser Hearing Institute (contact: Dr. Pavel Zahorik) and Sonova
(contact: Dr. Olaf Strelcyk). Primary duties of the audiologist will include: audiometric evaluation, diagnostics-based hearing aid fitting, and implementation of aided and un-aided testing procedures designed to approximate complex listening situations in everyday communication.

The ideal applicant will have had previous experience in research, preferably with human
subjects, familiarity with quantitative methods of data and signal analysis, including Matlab, and
an interest in hearing aid technology. Applicants must have earned an Au.D. or equivalent
degree. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
