SLP Position Available with Community Regional Medical Center, CA

Community Medical Centers is a growing, vibrant, and exciting health care system in Central California. Currently the system encompasses four (4) acute care hospitals.

Community Regional Medical Center

  • 600+ licensed beds
  • The ONLY Level I Trauma Center in the 15,000 square-mile service area between Sacramento and Los Angeles
  • Regional Burn Center
  • Academic Teaching Hospital
  • Includes a state-of-the-art five story 340,000 square-foot Trauma and Critical Care Building with 68 ICU beds
  • Also includes a Level III NICU with 84 beds
  • New 10 bed Pediatric ICU

Community Regional’s Rehab Services:

Rehab services are provided across the continuum, including a Neuroscience center and Primary Stroke Center, Joint Replacement Center of Excellence, Level III NICU, and the Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation Center.

Our staff is a balanced mix of seasoned clinicians, recent graduates and everything in between. This offers an optimal environment for mentoring and implementation of the most current evidenced based practice. We support regular continuing education to maintain currency and further develop our staff. Our therapists regularly share knowledge through mentoring and in-services.

Being located within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and teaching facility provides unique opportunities. We are able to admit patients at a higher level of acuity and initiate the rehab process earlier because we have access to the specialists in the acute environment. We also work closely among the rehab therapy teams to improve continuity of care between settings. Additionally, access to the educational process offered in a teaching hospital offers opportunities to attend Grand Rounds, interact with physicians in the residency program, and learn from various healthcare professionals in the teaching environment.

Acute Care Therapy:

We strive to intervene early in the patients stay, often starting in the critical care areas. The 52 bed neuroscience unit is our most robust service area, where we treat patients with a wide range of neurological, spinal and nervous system disorders. The orthopedic service includes several surgeons employing cutting edge techniques, giving us the opportunity to learn and practice in new ways. We also serve inpatient and outpatient burn units, the NICU, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, and the Emergency department.

Inpatient Rehab:

Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation Center is a 29-bed inpatient rehab facility located within CRMC. Our diagnosis mix includes patients recovering from stroke and other neurologic disorders, brain injury, cardiac dysfunction, amputation, spinal cord injury, trauma, and medical debility. Our focus is to work with patients to achieve their highest level of functional independence and train their family/caregiver to discharge home safely.

Outpatient Therapy:

Outpatient Rehabilitation Services consists of a therapist team that provides PT, OT, SLP, Nutritional, Respiratory, and Social Services at Community Outpatient Rehabilitation Center (CORC) and Neurological Outpatient Rehabilitation Center (NORC).

The CORC provides PT, OT, and SLP for both orthopedic and neurological conditions. Our therapists are very experienced with several certifications in orthopedic, neurological, and manual therapy specialties. Our OT department works closely with several CRMC plastic surgeons to provide the latest in treatment and hand orthotic fabrication.

The NORC provides comprehensive consultation, evaluation, and treatment for patients with neurological disorders. Some of the most common diagnoses seen are; ALS, MD, Stroke, and Parkinson’s disease.
