Unique CF-SLP Position

I am currently looking to hire three CF SLPs for a pediatric position in Moreno Valley, CA. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in working with children with autism and other speech and language related disabilities, prek- school-age. We are looking to hire one bilingual CF SLP to learn to specialize in prek-bilingual assessments and intervention. Additionally, we are looking to hire two SLP CFs to learn to specialize in AAC, autism related issues and diagnostics.

 

Starting salary is $84.000. Relocation assistance of $2000 will be provided, as well as a “ CF signing/licensing” trip to CA in early June will be fully covered upon signing the contract.

Job Title: Client Caregiver • part time • Queen Anne

Seeking a caregiver for a client in her early forties who lives at home and needs consistent care due to a traumatic brain injury. This client loves spending time with her kids, working on her rehabilitation goals, and traveling!

Available Shifts: 20-40 hours flexible per week, including nights and weekends. There is possible additional shift coverage as needed. The family travels, providing opportunity for additional shifts approximately every other month.


Deliver 1:1 therapeutic support in our client’s home and community to support their goals:

  • Physical fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness
  • Personal care including showering, and dressing
  • Socialization, boundaries, and communication
  • Physical, occupational, cognitive, and vision therapy regimens
  • Completion of proper documentation practices at the end of each shift
  • Review communication from care manager and client schedule prior to start of each shift
  • Foster client independence in life management, personal/self-care, and cognitive skills
  • Provide consistency and continuity of care to achieve client goals

Skills and Knowledge:

Experience in and openness to providing full assistance and full care including:

  • Personal care, bathing, dressing, driving client using family car
  • Experience or interest in health care, rehabilitation, or social services
  • Experience working with or spending time around individuals with traumatic brain injury, seizure disorders, and physical difficulties
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to function with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion
  • Must demonstrate an ability to remain flexible, solve problems, and work collaboratively with others

Required Degrees, Licenses and Certifications: 

  • CPR Certification or willingness to obtain after hire
  • Driver’s License and Insurance – reliable transportation is required – the selected candidate must have and maintain a clean driving record without any major traffic violations
  • Undergraduate level education preferred but not required

Raymond School District Position

General Responsibilities

Reporting directly to a Special Education Assistant Director, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services in the areas of student assessment, augmentative alternative communication devices, direct therapy, training and consultation to staff and families to support students to function to their highest possible level within the educational system. The Speech Language Pathologist participates as a member of an education team in the assessment and program evaluation for students.  The SLP serves as a liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of children with disabilities and their families.

We are recruiting for a Speech Language Pathologist to serve Raymond School District and Naselle School District for the 2022-23 school year. This position is .6 FTE, school year schedule and will provide services in-person.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

  1. Inform principals, teachers and other school personnel of speech, language and/or hearing services.
  2. Organize and conduct an identification program for communication disorders by utilizing screening criteria, materials, procedures and record-keeping strategies.
  3. Select and employ diagnostic procedures and develop guidelines for a comprehensive remediation program.
  4. Establish criteria for caseload selection and dismissal.
  5. Select and implement therapy strategies for modifying communicative behavior of each student with a speech, language and/or hearing disorder.
  6. Maintain a system to record all identification and evaluative data and continuous student performance information.
  7. Identify and define factors which determine the effectiveness of therapy. Redefine goals and modify therapy strategies consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or the individual family service plan (IFSP).
  8. Consult with parents, educators and other professionals regarding needs of children/students to assure appropriate learning experiences.
  9. Complete all required reports and records for compliance within statutory guidelines.
  10. Provide technical assistance to communication technicians and assistants.

Other Functions:

  1. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Hold or eligible to hold a Washington ESA speech language pathologist certificate.
  2. Completed all requirements for a master’s degree with a major in speech pathology  (except  special project or thesis).
  3. Experience working with children with articulation and language disabilities.
  4. Experience in the identification, assessment, programming and evaluation of children with language disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in speech or speech pathology.
  2. Experience in P-12 education.
  3. Experience working with Washington state and federal laws relating to children with disabilities.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Working Conditions:

  1.  Travel within ESD 112 Special Education ESA service region.
  2.  May be assigned to more than one school building/district.

Employment Requirements:

  1. Successful completion of a criminal history fingerprint check through Washington State Patrol and FBI.
