University of Utah Voice Disorders Center SLP CF Position (Sept. 1st, 2021)

Our team is excited to share that the University of Utah’s Voice Disorders Center is recruiting a speech-language pathologyclinical fellow (SLP CF) to train with our interdisciplinary team within the University of Utah’s Healthcare System in beautiful Salt Lake City, UT.

 

We are accepting applications for a full-time 12-month SLP CF position. We are seeking applicants interested in gaining expertise in evaluation and treatment of outpatient populations with voice, airway, and swallowing disorders in an academic outpatient medical center.  Our interdisciplinary team currently consists of team members across the disciplines of speech-language pathology, laryngology, pulmonology, nursing, and voice coaching.

 

Job description:

  • Our SLP CF satisfies accreditation requirements for ASHA CCCs and Utah licensure.
  • This position is temporary, but preference will be given to candidates committed to completing a training term of 12 months.
  • Anticipated start date no later than September 1, 2021

Job requirements include:

  • Master’s degree in an ASHA-accredited communication sciences and disorders clinical training program.
  • Temporary license in Utah under the supervision of an ASHA certified and licensed SLP

Preference will be given to candidates with relevant graduate clinical training experience with voice, airway, and swallowing disorder populations conducting:

  • Clinical assessmentof voice, airway, and dysphagia populations
  • Instrumental assessment/interpretationusing laryngeal imaging, FEES, and videofluoroscopic evaluation of swallowing (VFSS)
  • Interpretation of instrumental assessment/interpretation using MBSImP™© and quantitative analysis of videofluoroscopic swallow studies
  • Laryngeal Function Studies(standard acoustic and aerodynamic recording and measurement)
  • Treatment of voice, airway, and swallowing disorder populationssuch as those with vocal cord dysfunction, cough hypersensitivity syndrome, functional, organic, and neurogenic voice disorders, transgender voice, performance voice, presbyphonia, and all dysphagia etiologies
  • Telehealth service delivery (we currently serve Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, California, and Montana)
  • Additional certificationin LSVT, SPEAK OUT!®, EMST, etc.

Job role includes performing outpatient (general) speech-language evaluations across a broad range of ages and concerns. Referral source for these speech-language concerns include internal providers and community physicians. We are looking for a clinician who demonstrates a commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity as many of these assessments include families where the child is bilingual or monolingual with a language other than English. Are you a Speech Language Pathologist who would like to have an impact on strengthening families and the lives of children in North Idaho?

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Infant Toddler Program has an exciting opportunity in Sandpoint (Ponderay) for an Early Intervention Therapist (Speech Language Pathologist) who would like to work with infants and toddlers, their families, and as part of a collaborative team. We are seeking unique individuals who celebrate the chance to positively impact caregiver capacity and development of birth to three-year-olds who may have developmental delays or disabilities using key evidence-based practices. This position is full-time, Monday – Friday.

The person selected to fill this position will be a member of our Sandpoint-based team. This team provides services to the children and families of Boundary and Bonner County. Travel is required to provide in-person evaluations and services in the child’s natural environments, such as in homes, childcare, etc.

Evaluations and therapeutic services are provided in the child’s natural environments applying coaching interaction methods. Services to families may be conducted using virtual early intervention presence as well as in-person visits. Services are focused on routine-based interventions through consultation, coaching, and education to families and caregivers using evidence-based practices. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates frequently to assure comprehensive services to families.
