Orthopaedic & Neurological Rehabilitation (ONR) is very pleased to announce that they have recently revamped their new grad mentorship program. This new program has been meticulously designed to provide new graduates with the highest levels of clinical training and support as they launch their new career. New grads will be partnered with a mentor who will bring experience and knowledge in areas such as complex patient treatment, caseload development and management, adherence to regulations, appropriate assessment tools, electronic documentation and health records, meetings, staff communication and many other areas unique to both the assigned facility and the patients. $250 for Your School’s Program from ONR

ONR is a therapist owned rehab company. They have been providing quality care for over 30 years in facilities throughout CA, IA, IL, TN & TX. They are seeking talented therapists who are looking for a rewarding healthcare career to join their rehab team; to share their values and their goals in improving the quality of life of the people in their care.

ONR values partnerships with schools and  would like to offer a $250 donation if they hire a therapist from your school who responds to the job posting within the next 3 months and lists the school as the referral source on the application. The $250 donation can be given in the form of a scholarship to the therapy program or given to the Student Therapy Association to use at their discretion. ONR also offers a $500 referral bonus to students or alumni if one of them refers a therapist directly to ONR and that person is hired. The donations and bonuses are given for each hire of a full-time therapist.

Assistant/Associate Professor Position (California State University, Fullerton)

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant/associate professor beginning in August 2020. The Department offers B.A. and M.A. degrees and has been accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Audiology (Ph.D. or Au.D.); ABD will be considered but must have doctorate completed before appointment date
  • Primary expertise in audiology and additional expertise in at least one of the following areas: aural rehabilitation, experience in cochlear implant, research methods; strong candidates in other areas of expertise will be considered
  • Earned ASHA CCC-A and qualified for immediate California licensure in audiology
  • Evidence of, or potential for, teaching effectiveness in the area of audiology
  • Evidence of research potential leading to scholarly publications in the area of audiology
  • Ability to interact successfully with students, staff, and colleagues within a diverse academic learning community with a strong global orientation
  • Must have an established record of research productivity and clinical expertise to be appointed at the associate level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research that integrates evidence-based practice
  • Experience in clinical supervision in the university setting or with students in programs
  • Demonstrated teaching experience with a diverse student population
  • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to all aspects of cultural diversity/difference

Call for Recipes: Husky Cookbook

Building Community Through Food and Storytelling

Calling for recipes from UW students, staff and faculty on all campuses!

What is one food or food dish that represents your identity? How does this food item embrace and/or showcase who you are? Created by students for the Husky community, the Husky Cookbook is a collection of recipes and food stories gathered from UW students, staff, and faculty. The project aims to unite members across the broader UW community through food and their stories told through food.

Not only is food a way to break barriers and build relationships, but it’s also a way in which stories of culture and traditions are shared. Through print and online mediums, this Husky Cookbook aims to showcase the diverse members of our UW community, foster a sense of community by encouraging dialogue on how our identities are shaped by food traditions and culture, and promote cooking and sharing of meals.

Eligibility:

UW student (undergraduate, graduate or professional), faculty and staff from all campuses are encouraged to apply.

Steps to Submit to the Husky Cookbook:

  • Choose one food item/dish that highlights and showcases your identity; this is open to your interpretation (your cultural identity, upbringing/background, preferences/values, etc.).
  • Submit a clear, accurate and reproducible recipe of the food item/dish. Original and/or family recipes are welcomed, but not mandatory. If you find a recipe online or in a printed source, please provide a reference.
  • Submit a 100 to 150-word response that addresses how the food item/dish represents your identity. This is a creative writing response. Please let your voice shine through!

Baby sitting Job Opportunity for current Undergrad, Graduate Students, and recent grads.

My son is currently working with a speech therapist who recommended that I reach out to see if I could find a current student or recent grad who is looking for a long-term, part-time babysitter. The position would begin immediately and the schedule would be 9am – 6pm on Thursdays and Fridays. It would be really great to dedicate time during those hours for working on specific speech development skills. I will provide updated speech goals bi-weekly. If they wanted to attend his speech therapy session along with me then it would begin at 8:30am on Thursdays. The pay range is $15 – $20/hr depending on experience. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor – SLP Position

The Communication Sciences Program within the Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western Reserve University is seeking applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor to begin AY 2020-2021. The department has a PhD program in communication sciences and a CAA accredited master’s program in communication sciences (speech-language pathology). It also offers undergraduate programs in communication sciences and psychology. Requested area of expertise is open. Candidates will be evaluated on their potential to establish a prominent, externally funded research program and to excel in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The standard teaching load is two courses each semester.
