SLP Position in Seattle/Bellevue with Independence Rehab

Independence Rehab is pleased to announce an opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in search for a great Full-Time position, available now! This FT SLP position will be located at Pacific Regent in Bellevue, WA & St.Anne Nursing & Rehab in North Seattle. Pacific Regent is an elegant and upscale 4-Star 17 story retirement community that offers excellent Independent Living and Rehab & Skilled Nursing services to its residents. St. Anne is a smaller but wonderful 4-Star 47-bed Skilled Nursing Facility that you will pleasantly enjoy working at as well.

This Full-time SLP position is a shared position between the two facilities. Position will require that you work certain days at Pacific Regent and St. Anne or work at both in one day but for the most part the schedule is flexible. Pacific Regent has more of a need, so expect to be a Pacific Regent more days than St. Anne.

Student Assistant Position with Graduate Enrollment Management Services

Graduate Enrollment Management Services (GEMS) is a division of the Graduate School that facilitates admissions and graduation at the graduate level. GEMS is hiring an hourly student assistant to provide critical administrative support to their team. This position will primarily include clerical duties such as processing incoming mail, filing, assisting with their departmental email, providing back-up telephone support, and special projects as assigned. The assistant will report to the Administrative Program Specialist, but will provide support to the GEMS advisors and Director as needed.

Skills:
Candidate must be detail oriented, reliable, and highly organized, and should have excellent oral and written communication skills. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and UW administrative systems is preferred. The candidate must be able to use discretion when working with confidential student and applicant files.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Process incoming mail/prepare transcripts for review
  • Assist with GEMS email and telephone inquiry management
  • Assist with transcript file management
  • Provide general clerical and special project assistance to GEMS team

Summer Quarter: The position is 20-40 hours per week, depending on enrollment and availability.

This position is for 15 to 20 hours a week during the academic school year. Work hours are flexible based on the student’s academic needs, within normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm).

Note:

  • This position is not a Graduate Staff Assistantship and therefore is not eligible for a tuition waiver or health benefits
  • This position is open only to current UW students who are also available to work during Summer Quarter.

Salary: $15.50-$17 per hour, depending on experience.

JOB DUTIES:

Clinical:

  • Provide accurate and appropriate testing and evaluations, diagnosis, referrals and active follow-up of all patients.
  • Offer patient and family training in accordance with best practices for identification and intervention of newly identified hearing loss as well as new hearing aid technologies.
  • Provide knowledge to recommend new program development based on innovative technology/techniques as appropriate.
  • Have knowledge of, and provide services in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Audiology Program and CEID’s record keeping, clinical goals and protocols, patient eligibility, patient scheduling, patient discharge, and all quality assurance standards maintained by CEID, MediCal, CCS and all outside control and contracting agencies.
  • Possess accurate and complete knowledge of CPT codes and other billing codes to ensure appropriate reimbursement from various payer sources.
  • Participate as a team member with other audiology staff in staff meetings and other meetings as needed
  • Assist and participate with planning of hearing aid manufacturer and/or center promotional events.
  • Other duties as assigned

Administrative:

  • Review policies and procedures of CEID’s Audiology Clinic that are consistent with current professional standards and practices.
  • Monitor and supervise clinical performance and productivity of audiologists and support staff including completing annual performance reviews.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining quality assurance policies for all audiology services.
  • Liaison with the professional community to encourage interaction and cross-referral,
    promoting CEID Audiology services within the professional community and the general public.
  • Participate in Audiology Team meetings with the Executive Director and other department staff.
  • Provide workshops/consultations for CEID staff and community as required and requested.
  • Evaluate and update clinical procedures and protocols to ensure the best patient quality care.
  • Monitor trends in the field and provide recommendations for program changes and development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required:

  • Doctorate of Audiology
  • Eligibility for or Current California Dispensing Audiologist license
  • Eligibility or Paneled for CCS, Medi-Care and Medi-Cal
  • National Provider Identification (NPI)
  • Professional Liability Insurance coverage
  • Minimum of three years post-graduate clinical experience with patients of all ages
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse populations
  • Direct and clear communication skills appropriate for varying situations and audiences

Desirable:

  • Current Pediatric and Adult First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience and familiarity with the needs of families and individuals with special needs
  • Bilingualism (Spanish preferred)

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

A part time position can be considered given schedule availability and flexibility. Salary and benefits will depend on schedule determined and minimum hours.

  • Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, range $75k-105k.
