The OWRC is an interdisciplinary writing and research center that aims to support UW students, staff, and faculty on their diverse writing and research projects through one-to-one tutoring sessions, group tutoring sessions, workshops, and other programs.

The Data Analysis Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside tutors and staff to analyze usage data, and to compile findings into a board report for campus stakeholders. Qualifications:

• Degree and credentials: (1) Master’s degree or doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, (2) ASHA CCC-SLP certification, and (3) current (or eligible for) unencumbered Maryland license as a speech-language pathologist.
• Experience: Clinical experience in one or more of the following areas: Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), child language development and disorders, speech sound development and disorders, and/or phonetics. Clinical supervision, didactic teaching and/or
  research experience in these areas is preferred (especially AAC).

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include supervision of students providing clinical services on campus; undergraduate and graduate class instruction; academic advising; university, community, and professional service; and scholarship expectations including on-going professional education and maintenance of clinical excellence. In addition, responsibilities may include mentoring writing
abilities in undergraduate and graduate students, collaborative research, and interprofessional education (IPE).

The Department of Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology and Deaf Studies currently has 23 full-time faculty who teach over 500 undergraduate majors across two baccalaureate degree programs: Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and Deaf Studies. The department’s graduate programs enroll over 80 students in the Master’s degree program in Speech Language Pathology, and over 40 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program. In addition, the
department is responsible for administering the Towson University Speech and Language and Hearing and Balance Centers that serve over 1,000 clients each year in the greater metropolitan Baltimore community. One full-time CF position in Speech-Language Pathology is available at JBVAMC located in the Illinois Medical District, two miles west of downtown Chicago. The Speech Pathology Section is comprised of a dynamic, collaborative healthcare team serving inpatients, acute inpatient rehab, residents of the Community Living Center and outpatients. The CF will interact professionally with specialty services including Medicine, ENT, Neurology, Neuropsychology, Nutrition, Nursing, and other rehabilitation therapies. Dayton VAMC is pleased to announce the following opportunity:   Clinical Fellowship in Medical Speech Pathology for the 2019–2020 year.

The Dayton VA is a level 1C-high complexity facility.   Historically, it is one of three VA’s commissioned by President Lincoln.  Our grounds are vast and picturesque with the primary hospital building as the main medical facility for INPT and OPT.  There is also another newly remodeled building for a large CLC and residential care. The CF will be involved in speech pathology programs across the continuum of care.

The Clinical Fellowship stipend is for 1 year and is considered a TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT without the potential to become a permanent position.   The CF position is 40 hours per week with a compensation package that includes salary, health benefits and sick/ annual leave.

The Clinical Fellowship may begin as early as July 23, 2019 or as late as August 17, 2019.

The CF will gain experience in the evaluation and treatment of adults with cognitive communication impairments, aphasia, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, fluency, TBI, AAC and voice disorders in a variety of settings including ICU, acute care, inpatient rehab, extended care, outpatient and telehealth.  The CF can expect training in MBSS, FEES,  videostroboscopy, trach/vent, post laryngectomy voice restoration, communication devices and TeleSpeech services.   The CF could also have opportunities with speciality services including hospice, intensive care and work closely with ENT, rehabilitation unit, Polytrauma, and TBI team.

(Must provide official transcripts at time of interview) Current licensure in good standing as an as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Illinois is required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech, Language & Hearing Association (ASHA) is required.
