We have multiple openings – Audiologist I (Audiology, Clinical Generalist), and Audiologist II (Audiology, Clinical Specialist). In these positions, you’ll get the opportunity to identify, diagnose, and manage auditory disorders for a pediatric population up to 21 years of age, with additional responsibilities for clinic operations, research, and teaching.

Position Specifics:

Responsible for the evaluation and provision of speech language therapy to students of all grade levels who qualify for speech services per state requirements.

Position Summary:

The employee is primarily responsible for evaluation and provision of speech language and communication therapy. Employee may provide services in a variety of pre-school, elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team settings.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students with communication disorders including receptive- expressive language, articulation, voice, and fluency to determine eligibility and need for speech/language services at a variety of age levels.
  • Document communication skill deficits and their impact on the student’s educational performance.
  • Develop and implement an efficient service delivery schedule including individual, small group, and large group instruction.
  • Maintain data base of relevant information and frequent progress monitoring of student skill levels.
  • Complete all required paperwork (evaluation reports, IEP’s, progress reports, etc.) on time and consistent with district, state and federal requirements for compliance.
  • Schedule and conduct IEP meetings, and participate as an IEP team member in a timely professional manner.
  • Work cooperatively with building teams, district teams and outside agency teams to develop, plan and implement instruction.
  • Submit billing to Medicaid when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Therapist must have successful experience in working with families and communities, or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
  • Successful completion of a Speech Pathology certification program at an accredited college or university, and valid Washington state certification(s) and/or endorsement(s).
  • Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in a public school setting preferred.
  • Demonstration of organization and management skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people in a wide range of settings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work, relate and communicate positively and effectively with staff, students and parents as part of a collaborative team at both the building as well as the district level.
  • Ability to use IEP computerized systems to write assessment reports and IEPs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with using augmentative communication systems and devices. Including administering and interpreting a wide variety of diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with feeding and oral motor therapy skills.
  • Experience with emerging language and the preschool population.
  • Physical stamina and ability to assist physically disabled students if needed to support program instruction.
  • Skill and ability to utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment and learning.
  • Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice.
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of service delivery and schedule.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Master’s degree Speech Language Pathology
Current Washington State ESA
Current Washington State Speech Pathologist License
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA

Gersh Academy at Cougar Mountain is seeking a smart and energetic Speech and Language Pathologist to provide speech therapy support to children ages 4-21. The Speech Pathologist will regularly collaborate with other disciplines and services at departmental and system levels. Speech Pathologist is expected to independently review outcomes and modify intervention programs. Clinical reasoning and professional judgment are essential and the ideal candidate will have experience with screening, evaluation, educational program and transition planning, and therapeutic intervention for students with disabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Speech and Language pathologists will promote optimal function and engagement in meaningful activities.
  • They will provide support to families, and collaborate with other disciplines, as needed in order to address goals and objectives as indicated in each student’s IFSP or IEP.
  • Provide speech and language therapy/evaluations for language, auditory processing disorder, articulation, and voice fluency

Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor of CSD, non-tenure track Audiology/Hearing Science (Ohio University)

Ohio University, Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders, seeks applications and nominations for a non-tenure track Clinical Faculty position at the level of Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor depending on qualifications. It is a 9 month full time academic year appointment starting August 15, 2019. The UW Office of Public Lectures, within the Graduate School, is responsible for convening people and ideas in a safe and intellectually stimulating space. Part-time Audiologist (Indianapolis, IN)

Indiana Hearing Specialists (IHS) is a newly formed hearing health-focused division of BalanceMD. While BalanceMD’s mission is to cure or significantly improve dizziness and/or balance in the most patient-friendly and cost effective manner possible, Indiana Hearing Specialists’ mission is to provide professional hearing healthcare to those suffering hearing loss or other auditory disorders.

We are looking for an additional audiologist to join our team in Indianapolis. The audiologist will start part-time, but may move to full-time as patient load increases. Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform audiological evaluations, otoacoustic emissions (OAE), tympanometry, acoustic reflex threshold and tone decay
  • Provide hearing health education and counseling
  • Review hearing aid options with patients

U501 WordPress Page Creator (UW Student Hourly Position)

As the U501 Wordpress page creator, you will organize existing project documents in google drive and transfer them into WordPress to make a how-to toolkit. You will also upload existing U501 videos into Microsoft Stream.

U501 “flips” orientation so graduate students view online modules in Canvas containing text and videos with students, faculty and staff introducing key information before they arrive on campus. For its development of U501, the UW Graduate School won ETS/CGS’ 2017 Award for Innovation in Promoting Success in Graduate Education, which includes a $20,000 grant. As U501 has been so successful that peer institutions have reached out for tips on how to develop their own online orientations, we will use a portion of this grant to create this toolkit for other institutions making their own orientations. We are calling this next phase “U501: Beyond UW.”  This hourly student U501 WordPress creator position works collaboratively with the U501 project team and works independently. Please note that this is not a Graduate Staff Assistantship, and therefore is not eligible for a tuition waiver or health benefits.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The position of U501 WordPress page creator is an hourly position in the $20-$25 per hour range (depending on experience) and begins January 8, 2019 and ends March 8, 2019. The hours are variable; 8 hours per week prior to the launch on February 26, 2019 and based on need post-launch. The responsibilities include:

  • In google drive, organizing documents created during the U501 build and selecting documents to include in the toolkit.
  • As needed, adding writing to and editing these documents and transferring them into WordPress to create a logical process for other universities to follow when making their own online orientations.
  • Collaborating with U501 team members from the Graduate School and Provost’s Office to carry out responsibilities and activities related to organizing and transferring content into WordPress to ensure the toolkit ties in with overall project goals.
  • With U501 team, ensuring successful toolkit launch on February 26, 2019.
  • Troubleshooting and adjusting post-launch issues related to WordPress.
  • Uploading existing U501 videos into Microsoft Stream.

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate or professional student at the University of Washington.
  • Must be proficient using WordPress.
  • Must be proficient and experienced with standard HTML.
  • Must be proficient with Photoshop.
