Forecast: April 25th, 2020

By Anthony Edwards

Good morning, Huskies!

Despite the below-average precipitation this month, today marks the third wet Saturday in a row.

A front moved through this morning, dropping a bit over a quarter-inch in its wake, with the UW Atmospheric Science Building up to 0.28” as of 10 a.m. Skies will clear quickly behind the front, allowing for some warming near the surface and creating some instability in the afternoon.

Gusty winds and some heavier showers are possible this afternoon as highs climb to either side of 60 degrees. A convergence zone is possible later this afternoon into the evening as onshore flow keeps rainfall going. Showers decrease tonight as lows drop into the mid-40s.

Sunday will begin under partly sunny skies before clouds invade during the afternoon. Another system will impact the area late Sunday into Monday.

The door is certainly open for rainfall across the Pacific Northwest, but nothing of immediate note on the horizon other than a few more chances of rain during the week. It might be a good idea to carry a rain jacket with you if you’re heading out. Pretty seasonable April weather!
